I don't really know what to blog about at the moment. Can't be bothered doing a detailed post right now.. Too much on my mind! Hmmmm. It's very hot so I'm finding it hard to concentrate. Pretty keen to just chill until 2pm which is when me, the bestie, and the bf are going on a roadtrip to Hamilton for the weekend. Should be fun. (: So, I needed to do a post before the weekend otherwise another week will go by and no blogging will be done! Not cool.

ah, weddings. how sweet.

Recently I've been thinking about weddings (not marriage! There is a difference...) quite a bit. Mainly because I've been watching some wedding shows I enjoy on TV, and there are a couple of people who I know who have got engaged recently (not to each other! lol to different people). I love weddings! I think they are beautiful. (: I used to want to be a wedding photographer but due to a lack of belief/trust in myself, I have chosen to probably discard that career path... Hah. But I love going to weddings (even though I've only been to about 2 or 3 in my lifetime..) and seeing all the decorations and personal touches. I've got many ideas of cool things and sweet little details I'd love to have at my own wedding (which probably will not take place for at least another 5 years I would say! I'm NOT intending to get married soon just so you know.) However, I'm not going to lie, I am looking forward to my own wedding in the future.

Hello again.

Some interesting things have happened lately. The new semester started again on Monday, it went so much better than I expected as we didn't have to use our brains in any way, didn't do any work and basically just caught up with everyone again! It was awesome cause we all feel a bit like a family and reconnecting with everyone after the holidays felt so natural and happened so easily! It's only been 3 days back but it feels like way longer and we are already laughing and mucking around again as we get back into work mode. I love my classmates! (:
Valentine's day was yesterday. The bf and I had Pipi's pizza for dinner (YUM), some chocolate sponge pudding for desert, and just relaxed and hang out. Was very lovely and the card he made for me was super sweet.

Haven't really done much else in all honesty. Nothing worth sharing anyway. The most exciting thing that happened today was probably when my brother started his car (he was not sitting in it, just turned the ignition on while standing up) it drove into the garage door as he failed to check that he was in neutral when in fact, it was left in 1st gear. Lol. The sound the crash made was quite epic I must say. His car is totally fine. The garage door? Not so much. But apart from that, it was pretty funny I thought.

I noticed that there's quite a lot of pink on this blog as in the theme? But just so you know, I'm not one of those girly girls who are deeply into pinks and love all things pink and like crowns and key rings that say "Princess" on them. I just thought it went well with the grey you see. But I'm thinking about updating it sometime soon hopefully.

Nothing that interesting to share today. Went to work from 9AM til 2:30PM. It was rather gay. Someone ticked me off quite significantly.. I shall not say who or why, but I was very P'd off.. But I don't wish to turn this into a blog where I vent all my frustrations, so I shall say no more on the matter.
After work, I made a few purchases, returned home, then watched the American Idol encore screening for like 2 hours with my parents purely because I couldn't be bothered doing anything else. Ha.

What does the rest of my night hold? Probably just more chillaxing/laziness to be honest. I always feel extra lazy on Saturdays... Personal flaw #918.

buns, dance and study.

Accidentally slept in til 1PM today.. OOPS.. But I had a late night last night. Was hanging with the bf, who was doing his first trial shift starting at 1AM this morning til 8:30AM, as a baker's apprentice! He really enjoyed the trial so he is starting on Monday! Needless to say, we are both happy he has a job and an income again. (: He came over this morning after his shift smelling delightfully like a sweet bread bun! Hehe. Omnomnom. :p

A close friend of mine suggested that we both take up a hip-hop dance class this year. At first I slightly scoffed at the idea, but then I started thinking about it and have been thinking about it ever since.. I admit I'm not a very active person, but one of my dreams has always been to be able to dance amazingly.. Sadly I know this will probably never happen in my lifetime! So all I can do is watch and admire the dancers with real talent! Anyways, about this dance class thingy, it''s actually really expensive and the place I would consider going to isn't that close by so I might flag the idea and think about casually attending a gym instead...for the first time in my life! LOL. P:S: No I'm not obese. Just a bit lazy... But I honestly really need to take control of my fitness this year and get way more active and healthy! I'm not trying to lose any weight though, but I'd like to try tone up a bit and get healthy on the inside. (:

The weather today? Overcast.

My plans for today? Try and do more than nothing. HA. Might do a bit of shopping for some things I need. I start the 3rd year of my Graphic Design degree on the 13th, THIS MONDAY!! Aaaah, I'm not looking forward to the stress and brain-frying that I know is going to take place as it is the final graduate year! Hope it goes super fast, I cannot WAIT to graduate and be done with this course for good! Hoping I pass.... I shall make updates on how it goes throughout the year.

My goal is to keep on blogging this year even when times get busy, I'll do my best. (:

I know I have neglected this blog for so long. It's been summer holidays and basically has been one of the last things on my mind. I feel I should start over again and get back into my blogging. Not that anyone really cares much but I still think it's a pretty cool thing to do. And my best friend is still keeping hers going and it's become the only blog I have made a point to read ha... So I have once again been inspired by her.
My problem with blogging continuously last year, I found, was my lack of ideas of things to actually blog about, so I resorted to just posting lovely pictures all the time.. This time round, I feel like I should take more time doing more word-only posts, with the occasional picture thrown in. More journal styles, I suppose. Ha. And more general thoughts on things.
It is a bit hard posting thoughts and words in journal style without exposing too much personal info, but I shall try and see how things go.

Bear with me, though, as posts may take a little while to get going...

Wowsers. Haven't done a blog post in almost 20 days! EEK. That is definitely NOT GOOD. :/ Suppose you could say my blog is like a plant. You need to feed it plant food and water it for it to grow and get better and be successful.. Haven't been doing much watering lately that's for sure.. :p
BUT I will tell you I have been busy with so many other things, and because of my desire to do interesting/cool/not boring posts, I end up feeling too pressured and then just put it off for another day. Silly silly mentality I know, coz it's highly probable that only like 3 people at the most ever read the stuff I post ha.. *sigh* But I do love those 3 people and will endeavour to continue this blog to provide them with at least a half smile (mouth twitch even??) when they read these ramblings of mine. (: Not to mention the satisfaction I receive after completing a new post each time! Is a good feeling. Which is why I need and want to keep trying! So bear with me and my busy life.

Wow cannot believe its OCTOBER 4th already! And I haven't done one blog post this month until now! Argh.. Looks like getting to the habit of continuously blogging is going to be a harder challenge than I thought!
So back on the 1st of September, I wrote a list of goals I wanted to achieve for the month of September...
Let's review how well those went shall we...

SO, in conclusion, I managed to fulfill about 2 and a half goals out of 10... Not the best effort I have to admit! :/ If you noticed, the things I didn't do are all things relating to work, course work, or things that take practice/effort! :O Shock revelation! And really not good... I now know what I need to work harder at - working harder!! And being way less lazy with certain things which should be prioritised more highly.

Haha anyways, enough of my useless ramblings! Lets see some awesome pics just because we can ;)

With the recent heightening of pressures and stress levels from study/course work, sometimes my mind enjoys the escape into day dreams of summer (carefree, fun, adventurous, excitement-filled summer!) especially on a sunny spring day such as today! *sigh*.. 7 weeks of course left to go! (However it shall go fast I know it, I have soooo much to do, argh..)

So today, I didn't go to my lecture... But for good reasons! My car had to go in for WOF today (passed yay!), then went and changed banks with the help of my parents, went to McCafe for lunch - had a delish hot choc as always, and a chicken wrap -, then at home, my dad assisted me in getting my IRD sorted and I FINALLLYYY got my owing tax back from the last 5 years!! $826.. STOKED!! :D And got it all done and sorted over the phone and only took about 25 mins (: Was so buzzing after that phonecall! Ha ha..

So I'm on this illustration buzz at the moment. Love so much incredible stuff, it's almost overwhelming at times coz I just want to experiment and try new styles and practice and be inspired by so much stuff! Ahh! But sadly there are not enough hours in the day for that. And it's kinda weird coz even though I'm on this illustration/drawing buzz, there are still some times when I just don't feel like putting pen to paper.. Usually when my brain is fried from doing a hard days work of study stuff! *sigh* But like I mentioned in my last past, I love my A5 drawing sketch book, even though it's not of the coveted 'Moleskine' brand.. Wow.
First blog post for the new month of September.

My blogging-regularly skills have started to decrease! Ah yes, tis disappointing but alas, I shall press on and do my best to post as regularly as I can. I will try to improve my effort on this. (:
Part of the reason of my slackness being: I know there are a trillion things I could post about on here, but sometimes, I get tired and lack inspiration... And looking through hundreds of images online gets a bit tedious at times, especially since there are hundreds that I absolutely love... too many to share on here even though I wish I could! Hmm...

I realise I do a lot of image posting mainly of stuff I've found on the net. I would like to do some other kind of posting, but images seem to be the easiest and most eye-catching. I'm just drawn to the visual! But I believe it is time to break into other areas to vamp this blog up and get things rolling! (: My bestie does the whole variation thing real well on her blog here.

Kayso, I'm really loving crafts at the moment, especially things that are vintage/floral themed. I'm determined to start getting more into doing crafts at some point as they look like great fun and so satisfying to make something beautiful by hand! Keen on trying to do some of my own stuff like this! (:

Ahh, people's creative minds are just amazing! Wowsers. I put up some How To craft videos up sometime if I find any good ones!

So I just bought my very own set of watercolour paints yesterday. Now, you should know that I'm not a painter! I don't paint and lets just say I'm not that skilled in said area... But I am into my design and illustration so expanding my methods of creativity in my own practice is what I'm looking to do, as I am a graphics design student, if you didn't already know. I've seen some amazing illustrations/designs in the past which incorporate watercolour paints into the work, and they've fascinated & inspired me! So to show you what I'm blabbering on about, here's a selection of beautiful watercolour inclusive images as examples... (: Gosh it's amazing what you can do with this stuff...

I've already started making some of my own watercolour images, so as I do more, I will put them up on here for you to have a squizz at.. :p

When I was in Palmerston North shopping at that amazing store which I mentioned in a previous post, I purchased this stunning book for $50. Creative Walls by Geraldine James. I saw it, flipped through it, and just fell in love with it. I was tossing up whether I really needed to spend that much money on a book or not, but in the end, the gorgeous images, beautiful design, and just the entire value of the book was just simply too difficult to resist! So I gave in. (As I often do when shopping....oops!) And I made this baby my very own. (: Took a few snapshots of it and some of the spreads within it cause I just HAD to share its brilliance with you.

ah, mid-year break, you have been good to me.

If I could sum up my mid-year break in 3 words, they would be: fun, random, awesome.. BUUUUTTT I wouldn't go that cliche', that'd just be boring.. So to sum up my mid-year break in 3 less boring words, they would be: driving, jam-packed, awesome. Okay yes. I had to use the "A" word cause its true. These hols were awesome. And fabulous. And...well you get the picture. Travelled alot, shopped alot, ate (decently), spent very many hours with several very beautiful people who are very dear to me, did not work (Annual leave. Brilliant.) and just had a general fantastic time. If I were to recount to you all the things I did, I would be sure to bore you to tears and cause you to lose interest very quickly... So I shall just post a visual list of some of my favourite highlights of my past 4 weeks. (:

Im back!!
Did you miss me? Of course you did! :p Well, I missed blogging, but to be honest, I was way too busy having too much fun with my bestie to even think about blogging ha.
My week long holiday in hamilton was great! Just what I needed - time away from normal life! haha (: Did mass amounts of shopping, ate delish food, has some mean experiences, laughed (alot!), spent way too much money, but made awesome new memories for sure! Shoutout to my bestie (read her blog here to see her opinions on our trip!) for the amazing time, and also for not getting us killed on the drive to, from and around our destination... ;p lol (jokes oi, you're a pro driver!)

Don't think I've ever shopped so much in my life!! For about 3 days in a row, we were returning home with heaps of bags filled with new purchases! Oh the joy of retail therapy! Decided to take many photos this week to capture all our "bloggable" moments. Including pretty much every item of clothing I bought... Heh.. Will give you a small insight on the types of clothes I find to be pretty cool. (: (P:S: They look better when I'm wearing them rather than just hanging on the coat-hanger... OH and there are also some non-clothing items included too.)

Sometimes, I wish my life was like a line drawing: simple, uncomplicated, black and white, straightforward. But that, of course, is just wishful thinking. 'Cause we all know that life is never any of those things.. But anyways, my point is, I just LOVE line drawings! They amaze and excite me. There's a simple beauty about this style that I can't quite put my finger on. It is my goal to be able to draw in this kind of style someday as they are so versatile and can be used in heaps of different ways including within my own graphic design work. (: So, here are a few examples of some real cool line drawings which I found, just to show you what I mean...

This may be my last blog post for a little while as I am going away with my bestie for a week-long holiday! Have you ever seen a picture of something so delicious-looking in all your life?!?!?! Doubt it. I could actually stare at this cake and its beauty for ages just imagining how heavenly it would taste. I'm sure I'll end up having DREAMS about THIS CAKE. If anyone actually made me a cake like this or bought one like this for me, I have to admit that I would probably consider marrying you. Although it's probably not the healthiest food in the world.. Pretty sure I put on a couple kg's just looking at it... But who cares, I want it!! Definitely makes it into my top food wish list, without a doubt.

Good afternoon people. It's currently 3:30PM. Monday. The first official day of my holiday! And it's been pretty good so far. (: Had a wonderful sleep in til' 11:30AM. Ate food. Cleaned my room. And I've been on the comp most of the day preparing images for today's post.

If you've been following my blog from the beginning, you will notice that I have put up quite a few pictures I've found with lyrics, quotes or words over photographs etc. WELL, I decided it was my turn to have a go at creating some of my own! So basically, the pictures below are all done by me in good ol' Adobe Photoshop and chucked straight from there into this post.

OH, and I promise that ALL the photographs used were taken by me or a member of my family! (:

Today was the last day of course for like 4 weeks at least!! BUZZING. So excited to finally be free! Holidays are a beautiful thing. Anyways, gotta make this a relatively quick blog post as I have places to be, people to see! Ha. I found a few illustrations which I find rather awesome. The talent and skill level displayed in some of them makes me quite jealous as I would be so unable to produce work like that no matter how many hours I spent trying to be that good! *sigh* Oh well, I'm sure I'm pretty decent at creating other sorts of things in my own style, so I suppose I shouldn't complain... Meh.

I'll hopefully get around to putting up some of my own stuff on here at some point perhaps these holidays. (Love that word... holidays.. :D )

Wednesday. Middle of the week. Which means 2 more days of course work and then holidays! Can you tell I'm slightly excited?? Another busy week! And just one more to go til the holidays start. Talk about YAY. Simply cannot wait for the amazing feeling of having no work to do and being able to have late nights (and late mornings :p)! Pretty keen to make these coming holidays among the best I've ever had! Which means they shall include.... shopping! :D Bring on the retail therapy! Which brings us smoothly into today's post topic - style. Which means cute outfits, fab accessories, gorgeous nail polish and of course shoes. YEAH BABY.

There's just something about Vintage that I absolutely love. Maybe because this world has become so digital and technological, it's quite refreshing to see the style of the past captured in beautiful images. It has a sentimental, almost romantic feel to it, which is probably another reason why I find it rather captivating. So, I stumbled upon this cool Tumblr blog 'musicandlyricss' while browsing images.. It has a huge collection of awesome photographs with lyrics, taken from heaps of random songs, placed over them. [In the actual blog, it tells you the song title and artist below the image] The ones shown below are select collection of my fave ones. (:

So turns out the lyrics in the picture above actually come from a really pretty song which I had never previously heard before until I searched for it in YouTube! It is sung by a duet with lovely voices which blend together in perfect harmony! It's called To Whom it May Concern by The Civil Wars (haha random band name eh :p). .

Continuing with the topic of inspiring things, I thought I'd share with you the bits of inspiration I witness in front of me everyday.. pinned up onto my splash board at tech! Since I'm a graphic design student, I collect these neat designed things which I think are cool to put up on it.

(The piece of printed paper with the drawn swirl image over the writing is the one bit of my own work on this board!)

Below is a full view shot of my desk... Slightly messy, I agree, but I was in the middle of working on something, in my defense. You can see a highly important item of mine just to the left of my workbook.. Yes that's right, it is my cellphone.. ;) (How else would I be able to communicate with those 'special' people while in the studio?! lol... :p)

Afterwards, I tidied it up so it looks more professional... But mainly just to impress you of course! Oh and in this shot, another very important item of mine is laying to the right of my workbook... I call it, my little green baby hehehe :p x.

All you need to do this work is a pen or a pencil... ;p

Okay so I just wanted to share this one image with you which I found off the internet ages ago! Just had to print it out.. It's sooo random, but genius. And quite simple too! Cracks me up every time.. :D It is also the title of today's blog...

So Tuesday's post rather inspired me to do some of my own handwritten type note thingys... and OF COURSE mine didn't turn out anywhere near as amazing... *sigh* -_-' However, I am still inspired despite my initial semi-failure, and when I have more time on my hands to do things that I actually want to do rather than need to do (a.k.a essay which looms over my head night and day...) I shall get way more into trying to make some really decent ones that might actually semi-impress at least one person other than myself.. :p

Gosh I am so incredibly slack! Have not done a single post in over a week and I've only just started blogging!! Shows you how much of a slacker/leave-it-to-the-last-minute type of person I am when it comes to things such as these! I can think of several people whose emails I have still not replied to in months!! Makes me sad to think about.. so that's why I usually forget and end up putting it off constantly til' it gets further and further out of my mind, but never quite disappears completely due to the guilt that keeps gnawing away at my mind and heart... So if you are reading this and I still have not replied to an email or message which you quite happily sent me a thousand days ago, I would like you to know that I am sincerely sorry, I have not forgotten about you, and I love you still! ♥ ♥ :(

It's been a psycho busy week with sooo much going on with study especially! Stressed out. 1.5 weeks to do a 1500 word essay which I have not even started.... (kmn.) Sucky days where nothing seems to be going your way don't help matters either... :\

It's funny how one kinda little thing can change the whole outlook on your day. Stupid emotions... Gah.. :\

Second day of my blogging journey.

I have already come to realise that there is such a vast array of amazing things I could possibly blog about... where do I even start?!

First of all, I am glad it is Friday and hopefully this weekend will be more enjoyable than my stressful week was... I will be seeing about three special individuals who I haven't seen in varying lengths of time, all of whom I have somewhat missed... (: x So I'm quite looking forward to that!

For today's image 'eye candy', I've decided to post a few pics up which I find rather cute... {The one directly below is one I took and edited myself! Wanna see more?}

I find old/vintage books and paper quite beautiful! Perhaps I shall do a post in the near future purely devoted to such things...

I thought it may be a good idea if a give a quick introduction of myself, so you know a bit about the girl behind the words. . .

I'm currently a student studying Graphic Design, which I am highly interested in. Also love photography! I could spend hours just browsing through the massive amounts of brilliant photos all over the world wide web! I always hear myself saying, "Aww I wish I could shoot photos like that!" Makes me slightly jealous at times.. :P

A few other things which I absolutely love include: Vintage type stuff (jewellery, objects, fashion etc), my iPod, cute song lyrics (or lyrics which describe the way I feel!), cute things, swirly floral patterns, the feeling I get when I design or draw something I think is awesome & also when I take an amazing photo, and nice big hugs... :D

Therefore, you can expect to see several of those things (plus more) that I love appear throughout this blog as I attempt to share them with you! OH which reminds me, I'll hopefully get around to putting up quite a bit of my own work on here - just random stuff which I've done throughout the years.

One thing you may find out about me through the things which I post here is that I'm a bit of a dreamer... a bit of a romantic... ;p

Well, I've decided to finally start my own blog as of today. Had some fun designing the head title block using good ole' Adobe Photoshop and a bit of my own skill... Knowing me, I'll probably feel the need to redesign the entire blog appearance every week!

My best friend was the one who inspired me to start one of these.. And everyone else is blogging these days aren't they? :P

Just so you know, I intend to blog about a wide variety of things, all of which can be categorized as exceptionally cool, visually delicious or smile-bringing and basically just whatever the heck I feel like blogging about at the time. (:
